When Michael Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009, the artist was in the middle of preparing for his comeback tour. On March 5, 2009, thousands of fans and hundreds of journalists gathered at the O2 Arena in London for a press conference Michael Jackson was holding. Upon taking the podium, the King of Pop stated "I just wanted to say that these will be my final show performances in London. When I say this is it, it really means this is it". Jackson originally planned on 10 shows, but the demand for tickets prompted the number of shows to grow to 50. Michael's sister Janet opened the show with a tribute to the fallen icon, and his father, Joe and brother Jermaine were in the audience to witness the premier of the trailer. The documentary captures Jackson doing what he loved to do-singing and performing-one last time. The documentary will be roughly 80 minutes long and will open simultaneously nationwide on October 30, 2009. As fans gather to see the movie, they will witness history as films rarely have simultaneous openings. Tickets sales are expected to make history by shattering box office records and 90% of the ticket sales will benefit the estate of Michael Jackson.
